2016 Volkswagen Beetle vs 2016 Mini Cooper
Two icons that couldn’t be mistaken for anything else on the road, the Volkswagen Beetle and Mini Cooper are a genre of their own. Although the Mini Cooper’s history isn’t nearly as involved and far-reaching as the Beetle’s, both are unlike anything else. And because they are two stand alone vehicles, here at Donaldson VW, we have chosen to compare the two side-by-side: the 2016 Volkswagen Beetle vs 2016 Mini Cooper.
Punch bug! Slug bug! Punch buggy white, w-h-i-t-e! Whatever variation of this game you played, the end result was always the same, getting punched in the shoulder...but have you ever actually been behind the wheel of a Beetle? They’re an absolute blast to drive, especially when equipped with paddle shifters, adding more performance to the palms of your hands. The 2016 Beetle swiftly is able to deliver powerful responsiveness while sharing the stable underpinnings and components of the Golf and Jetta.
One thing to note, because so many of us have grown accustomed to cars and hatchbacks being five-seaters, due to the fact that these are performance-based drives with unique design, the Volkswagen Beetle and Mini Cooper are able to seat up to four adult passengers.

2016 Volkswagen Beetle: The Little Hatchback That Really Packs a Big Punch
By definition, the VW Beetle and Mini Cooper are compact hatchbacks, and due to their size and engines types, are efficient vehicles for congested city traffic or for cruising along the highway. The 2016 Mini Cooper 2-door hardtop lists three engine options, but the 2016 Beetle continues to trust in its two driver-satisfied turbos. The baseline Beetle operates with a five-speed manual while a six-speed automatic is standard on the other coupe and convertible trims. (At a higher trim level, a six-speed automated manual is paired with the turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder.)
Even in a state of four changing-seasons, Sayville New York drivers still enjoy the freedom and excitement of a convertible ride during the warmer months. The Mini Cooper also is available as a convertible and grows to become a four-door model as well. No matter the weather, stay connected with your 2016 Beetle through the available VW Car-Net App-Connect system--here you will be able to access smartphone apps while using Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or MirrorLink. Just because the Beetle holds fast to its original Love Bug identity, it certainly hasn’t fallen behind the times in the way of safety and entertainment technology.
The latest Volkswagen Beetle is available here at Donaldson VW where we welcome you to stop by and get a better look up close and personal. Rather than further explaining the engaging drive it delivers, we encourage you to take a 2016 Volkswagen Beetle for a spin the next time that you’re in town.
