How Big is the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas?
The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is part of the midsize crossover segment, but it is at the larger end of the spectrum. It is the first Volkswagen model to offer seating for up to seven passengers – all of whom will enjoy lots of leg, elbow, and head room. Passengers who are assigned to the third row of seats will also have an easier time entering or exiting the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas thanks to the easy fold-and-slide seats that can be found in the second row (which can still be folded down when outfitted with baby car seats or toddler-age booster seats).
Despite all of the space for passengers, cargo space was not sacrificed in the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. Behind the third row of seats, the cargo space measures 20.6 cubic feet. For bigger adventures or shopping trips, the cargo space can increase to 55.5 cubic feet when the third-row seats are folded down, and again to 96.8 cubic feet when the second-row seats are collapsed.
