The design is almost entirely unchanged, although the 2018 Beetle is marginally bigger if that matters to you. Like, literally marginally. Its length is 168.8 inches compared to the 2017 model's length of 168.4 inches. Anyway, more notable is the larger, more powerful engine. With some extra horsepower and solid torque, the new Beetle packs more of a punch than last year's.
While the 2017 Beetle comes with a wide array of safety features, and the 2018 model continues that. Front and rear crumple zones combine to form a safety cage around the driver and passengers to help absorb any crash energy. Volkswagen's Intelligent Crash Response System turns off the fuel pump, unlocks doors, and activates hazard lights when a collision is sensed and airbags are deployed.
