Have you been thinking about buying a new Volkswagen Tiguan? Then you have come to the right place! The Volkswagen Tiguan is a favorite choice for our customers who are looking for both style and versatility. This beloved vehicle has made its way into a new generation, so the 2018 version is quite different from the 2017 model. Just how different are they from each other? To help you understand, we have built a comparison between the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan and the 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan that explains some of the changes.
2018 Volkswagen Tiguan | VS | 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan |
2.0L TSI 4-cylinder | Engine | 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder |
184 horsepower, 221 torque | Power Output | 200 horsepower, 207 torque |
5 to 7 | Seating Capacity | 5 |
12.0 / 33.0 / 65.7 cubic feet (3-row models) 37.6 / 73.5 cubic feet (2-row models) | Cargo Space | 23.8 / 56.1 cubic feet |
The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan (which is now available at our dealership) is about ten inches longer than the model from the previous year. This allows the compact crossover to be more versatile than ever before. The 2018 edition is able to carry up to seven passengers (front-wheel drive models only) and have a 12.0 / 33.0 / 65.7-cubic foot or 37.6 / 73.5-cubic foot cargo space.
Modifications were also made to the engine for the 2018 Tiguan model. While it remains the same size at 2.0 liters, new technologies changed the power output to 184 horsepower and 221 lb.-ft. of torque. This helps make the 2018 edition of the Volkswagen Tiguan more efficient at an estimated 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway (2017 models have an estimated 20 mpg-city / 24 mpg-highway fuel economy).
