If you are a Volkswagen aficionado, you have probably heard that the beloved Jetta sedan received a full-blown make-over as it enters its next generation. Of course, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta comes with a whole new look that includes a sleeker and more streamlined silhouette, along with a newly-sculpted hood and an all-new grille. In addition to the new exterior styling, there were several other changes made to the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta – and we thought that we would share them with you in a comparison against the 2018 edition.

The Volkswagen Jetta has always been known for being incredibly efficient, and it is apparent in both the 2018 and 2019 models. While the 2018 Jetta comes available with three different engine options – all of which are very efficient – Volkswagen decided to offer the 2019 edition exclusively with the 1.4L turbo 4-cylinder engine. While the horsepower went down a little bit, the city fuel economy increased to 30 mpg – and that means you can travel farther around Long Island and NYC with fewer fill-ups!
If you look at the side profile of the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta, you will see that the line between the roof and trunk is more streamlined and reminds us of a fastback-styled car. This meant a slight decrease in the available trunk space for the 2019 Jetta from the 2018 model, but to be honest, you probably won't notice a huge difference. You still have plenty of room for a couple of suitcases for a road trip. The rear seats in the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta also fold down to make room for large items.
As the People's Car, Volkswagen offers top-notch quality and dependability at an affordable price. While the Volkswagen Jetta gets an all-new look and features for 2019, it comes with a lower starting price tag of $18,545. It comes available in five different trim options so you can get the perfect number of features for your budget. The 2018 model has six trim options to choose from and starts at $18,645.
The newly-redesigned 2019 Volkswagen Jetta will be available at Donaldsons Volkswagen in late May 2018, so contact us or come visit us today to learn more!
